Storytelling

From the Dynamics of Enthusiasm

People are natural storytellers. Storytelling and the dynamics of enthusiasm are inherently connected. Without enthusiasm, a story lacks persuasive power—and without stories, enthusiasm cannot spread.

The idea for this training originated from interviews with enthusiastic customers and employees. These individuals had so many powerful stories to share—stories that, until then, had received little attention within their organizations. Sharing a story is fundamentally different from simply posting a message on the intranet.

Storytelling only creates value when stories have impact and are passed on. This led me to dive deeper into the craft of storytelling—from Aristotle to Obama. Combined with new insights from neuroscience and psychology, I used this knowledge to develop a new training program.

Participants are equipped with practical tools to become compelling storytellers themselves and to help their colleagues do the same.

This in-house training has been delivered to, among others, employees of Stedin and the executive leadership of Canon Europe in London. Ruta Jonuseviciute created a cartoon inspired by the Canon training.
